Heavier and more visually distinctive weaves can work well when the lining needs to complement a formal ethnic garment. Jacquard offers a patterned woven surface, while satin dobby combines a textured construction with a satin character. These options differ in weight and appearance, so the choice should be based on the actual garment rather than assuming one lining works for every sherwani. The outer fabric is also important. A substantial sherwani fabric may pair differently with lining than a lighter construction intended for a less structured garment.

When sourcing polyester lining, buyers should establish the required GSM and weave before requesting bulk quantities. A sample allows the manufacturer to assess whether the lining sits correctly inside the garment and whether the interior has the desired appearance when the sherwani moves or opens. Colour is another practical consideration, particularly when the lining is intended to complement or contrast with the outer fabric. Once the preferred specification has been approved, keeping the GSM, weave, shade and quantity requirements on record can make future purchasing easier. This is particularly useful for manufacturers producing repeated styles or larger seasonal collections. A suitable lining should support the garment's construction without creating unnecessary bulk or disrupting its intended drape.
